Motorcyclist Shot Dies At Hospital Days After Crashing In Maryland: Police

A 48-year-old Temple Hills man who was shot earlier this month in Suitland has died, and his death is now being investigated as a homicide, police say.

On Thursday, the Prince George's County Police Department confirmed that Brian Akinfe has died after he was found shot near his motorcycle nearly two weeks ago.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, officers were called to the intersection of Branch Avenue and St. Barnabas Road, where there was a reported crash involving a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, they found Akinfe, and while they were treating him for his injuries, discovered that he had suffered several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital for treatment and died on Tuesday, Sept. 12, authorities announced.

No information about a possible suspect or motive has been released by the department, which is still investigating the murder.
